These terms govern your use of SimpleRMD (simplermd.com), operated by circle5design, LLC, an Illinois limited liability company. By using the site, you agree to these terms.
We've written these to be readable. If something isn't clear, email us at trigg@simplermd.com.
SimpleRMD is a calculation and tracking tool for Required Minimum Distributions. It uses IRS-published life expectancy tables to compute RMDs based on information you provide.
SimpleRMD is not a financial advisor, tax preparer, attorney, or brokerage. We do not provide tax, legal, or investment advice. We do not recommend strategies, manage funds, or file anything on your behalf. The calculations and content on this site are for informational and educational purposes only.
You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any calculation before acting on it. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified tax professional or financial advisor for guidance specific to your situation.
The calculator at /rmd-calculator is free to use and requires no account. You enter your information, receive a result, and that's it. Free calculator inputs are processed in your session and are not stored on our servers.
We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue the free calculator at any time.
What You Get
The paid plan ($99/year) includes saved inputs, support for multiple accounts and inherited IRA scenarios, CPA-ready PDF exports, deadline reminders, and shared access—so you don't start over every year.
Billing and Renewal
Your subscription is billed annually through Stripe. It renews automatically each year unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period—you retain access until then.
Refunds
If you're not satisfied, you can request a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase or any renewal. Email trigg@simplermd.com with your account email and we'll process the refund promptly. After 30 days, no refunds are issued for the current billing period.
Account Access
You may create an account using email and password, or by signing in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately.
When using SimpleRMD, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when using the calculator or creating an account
- Use the site for its intended purpose—calculating and tracking RMDs
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or redistribute the calculator, its logic, or its content
- Not use the site in any way that could harm its availability or security for other users
- Not create accounts for the purpose of reselling access
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for any decisions you make based on the results.
All content on SimpleRMD—including text, design, graphics, calculator logic, and code—is owned by circle5design, LLC or used under license. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute this content without written permission, except for personal use of your own calculation results and exports.
Your exported PDFs and saved data belong to you. You can share them with your accountant, advisor, or anyone else.
SimpleRMD is provided "as is" and "as available." We make reasonable efforts to ensure the calculator reflects current IRS tables and rules, but we do not guarantee that the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly accurate in every scenario.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties—express or implied—including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
IRS rules change. Tax law is complex. While we monitor for updates and document our methodology (see Is this calculator accurate?), the responsibility for verifying any result before acting on it rests with you.
To the fullest extent permitted by Illinois law, circle5design, LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of SimpleRMD—including but not limited to incorrect calculations, missed deadlines, tax penalties, or reliance on information provided by the site.
Our total liability for any claim related to SimpleRMD is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $99, whichever is less.
This limitation applies whether the claim is based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other theory.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless circle5design, LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of SimpleRMD, your violation of these terms, or your reliance on any calculation or content provided by the site.
SimpleRMD uses third-party services to operate, including Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), and Google Analytics (site analytics). Your use of SimpleRMD is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these providers. We are not responsible for their services or practices.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email. Continued use of SimpleRMD after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
If you do not agree with a change, you may cancel your account and stop using the site.
You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or use the site in a way that could harm other users or the service.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of SimpleRMD will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Illinois.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
